Thanks, Terry. It's the shorter European version in its original 1:37:1 ratio (the importance of the ratio will become once you've heard the commentary)

erm...yeah we didn't know what was the aspect ratio was. Seems a lot of people are confused about this. Just found this online: What aspect ratio was The Shining filmed in? "The entire negative was exposed, meaning that there was no in-camerahard matting so the film was effectively shot in Academy 1.37 but itwasn't intended to be shown in cinemas that way. The film was shot and conceived for 1:1.85 ratio screening (and the camera viewfinders had the 1.85 framelines marked on them) This is the standard ratio that widescreen films in the US are projected in. The 1:185 crop was achieved when the film was projected onto cinemas screens."

To make matters even more confusing, Kubrick apparently hated Widescreen transfers for home video and insisted that the earlier DVD releases (released in the late 90's shortly before his death) be the original open-mattes. When they were re-released on DVD, they used the 1:85.1 ratios, but aledgedly Kubrick prefered the European favoured 1:.66.1 as it was less of a compromise between what the frame would fit in and what cinema screens would format. There was a lot of fan backlash towards this, that was kicked back up again this year when Warner released the Blu-Ray set with the 1:85.1 ratios. It would have been a great oportunity with Blu-Ray to feature every aspect ratio of each film on the Blu-Ray set, but that was obviously more than Warners' jobs worth... I finally watched Fear last night...

I've had this problem with megaupload before (which is why I hate it!). It's there, it's a problem with their site and it wll return at random. Hmmm, what else can I do? Any ideas how to get it straight onto iTunes? Anyone?
